Aldington Equine Vets Ltd is a veterinary service for horses in Lancashire. We are the only practice in East Lancashire dedicated entirely to horses and ponies.VETS & STAFF

VETS & STAFF

The practice consists of four dedicated equine vets backed up by five office staff. Being a small practice, we are able to provide more personal attention to all the horses we care for and our clients will enjoy seeing a familiar vet at each visit and having the telephone answered by a familiar person.

The Vets

David Aldington BVSc MRCVS

David Aldington BVSc MRCVS

David qualified from Liverpool in 1993 and came to work in Clitheroe where he had previously spent time “seeing practice”. He initially treated all species but always had a special interest in equine work, having owned his own horses before going to university. David finally achieved his ambition and founded Aldington Equine Vets in January 2005.

David has special interests in stud work and preventive medicine. With the ever increasing involvement of AI in horse breeding, veterinary input is more important than ever and David enjoys the challenge of getting mares in foal. Having achieved a prize in preventive medicine at Liverpool, he is enthusiastic about making sure that all the horses and ponies in the practice have a proper preventive medicine plan.

Sarah Heathcote BSc BVSc MRCVS

Sarah Heathcote BSc BVSc MRCVS

Sarah qualified from Leahurst in 1999 and initially worked in mixed practice for Town and Country Veterinary Group (formerly Holroyds) in Clayton-le-Moors. She then moved to an equine practice in Manchester for 4 years before joining Aldington Equine Vets in 2005. Sarah’s main interests include equine anaesthesia and critical care and she is studying for a postgraduate qualification in Veterinary Anaesthesia. Her love of horses extends to her Standardbred Jensen and cheeky Shetland ponies, Zak and Zeus.

Adam Pawson BVMS MRCVS

We are please to welcome Adam Pawson to the practice.  Adam was brought up on his parents livery yard in Scotland and has ridden since he was 7 years old.  He has been involved in arranging local events and owns his own horse, a Dutch Warmblood called Bert. Adam and Bert have competed in Eventing as well as other disciplines.

Adam initially came to work for the practice as a locum and we were so impressed with his knowledge and caring approach that we offered him a full time position.

Juliette Condie BVetMed MRCVS

Juliette qualified from London. In joining the team at Aldington’s she achieved a lifetime ambition to work as an equine vet. Juliette has been riding since the age of 9, and owned horses for 8 years before university. She has competed in both showjumping and eventing. She now rides any horse she can get her hands on when time allows, from friends ponies to racehorses.

Juliette got married in July 2007 to Gus, who is a cattle and small animal vet practising in Clitheroe.
