Adam Pawson BVMS MRCVS
I came to Aldington Vets from Scotland - living in Ayrshire (though originally from Cheshire). I studied at the University of Glasgow graduating in 2006, and worked briefly for the Equine Vet Clinic in Renfrewshire. Before coming temporarily to cover work at Aldington Vets in 2007 - after which I was offered a permanent position, and am still here now!
I come from a background of horses - having lived on my parents livery yard, and briefly a riding school, I started riding when I was young - including a few naughty grey ponies! During that time I rode and competed in many areas - most things Pony Club - Dressge, Show Jumping, Eventing, Tetrathlon, Mounted Games etc, including at National Championships in Dressage and SJ, and winning at HOYS when it was at Wembley! As I got older I competed afilliated at BSJA, British Dressage but came to focus on Eventing - competing up to Intermediate level with my horse Bert. Bert sadly passed away a few years ago - and though I keep planning to start riding again it hasn't happened yet...
At Aldinton Vets I have worked for several years now - focusing on lameness in horses, diagnostic imaging and dentistry, but love the full range of work a practice like Aldingtons brings. I always like meeting new horses - and most of their owners, and travelling the rural parts of Lancashire.Over the years I have been on many courses (CPD) covering most aspects of equine work - to keep my knowledge up-to-date. I also get my computer skills tested frequently - creating and editing this website and helping out with any problems in the office.
When not working - I enjoy walking and hill climbing to explore Lancashire, good food and have been trying to start skiing recently - having survived a holiday in Austria recently!
(You may also notice from the pictures on the left that I am not good at posing for photographs!)
